Adapts well to the American collars held down by two small buttons. The knot owes its particular consistency to the thickness of the tie’s lining.  This, tied normally, is derived from the Kippers’ tie from which it is differentiated however, as being thicker.

For this cone-type knot, the tie must be rather short.  Its main characteristic is that of a short leg that sticks out at the knot’s upper entrance.

This is a knot to keep in mind if one has a rope with a diameter larger than 5 mm.  It is used in the Navy in order to tie a rope with which to limit an area of limited access.

It’s a shame that a newborn should participate in the first ceremony of his life without a tie, especially when the baby is a boy. The most suitable to the occasion will be a lanyard tied with a flat knot.

It seems almost a non-knot, a last minute solution to stop the ends of the tie that no one knows how to join. It’s actually a simple and effective way to tie a too short tie.
