Recently a creation of Vionnet has been found and the stylist Azedine Alaia has been asked to reconstruct the dress on a mannequin. Alaia spent a great deal of time to understand how the dress was originally, but the result is one of the most beautiful and significant of Vionnet’s creations. The war will force many couture houses to close and amoung them also Madeleine Vionnet’s, who died poor at the age of 99.

But her name, her creativity and her great contribution to the exaltation of the beauty of the feminine form has not been forgotten, in fact, recently the brand has been taken up and there are already new creations in the Vionnet style in circulation.
