SHAUN GLADWELL FAST BODIES AND ENDLESS LANDSCAPES THIS IS PLUTO'S EFFECT

When Pluto enters a new sign every 15-20 years, the world scenarios dramatically change. Even in the individual subject, when Pluto is in its early grades it seems to acquire a very special force on its own. In 1972 Pluto entered Libra and many of those born in that year had it in their individual subject between 0° and 3°. The imprinting performed by Libra is amplified in that generation thanks to the position of Uranus, which also is in Libra, in a beautiful trine often with Saturn in Gemini. What emerges is a generation with a strong feeling of aesthetics, in which form turns into a way of communication, with particular attention to the body and to a self-confident and youthful beauty, pushing many natives in that year to various themes of art.

Shaun Gladwell was born in 1972, a Sydney-born artist that we met at the 2009 Venice Biennale.

Video, audio works, sculptures, photographs, all with a steady obsession: the body in motion, the speed (Saturn in Gemini) in relation to the boundless landscape of his homeland. Very peculiar is its impossible highway barrier made of bottles, objects, jars, placed in the middle of an endless desert, entitled “Placet and highway.” Among skateboarders, hip hops and graffiti, even the impossible delirium of the “Libra Form” is constantly in action.
