Mario Martone, who presented his new film “Noi Credevamo” an historical film based on Anna Banti’s novel, starring Francesca Inaudi, Luigi Lo Cascio, Toni Servillo and Luca Zingaretti, was born in Naples, on November 20th 1959. The film is about the period after the riots of 1928, severely repressed by the Bourbons.
The action of digging into the characters, the fighting spirit of Scorpio are confirmed by the peculiar personality of Martone, which certainly does not belong to the group of quiet directors, ready to settle for an easy success. You can examine the Scorpio character also on reviewing his films, starting from “Amore Molesto” released 1993 and which was awarded with a David of Donatello prize, or the collective work on the G8 of Genoa in 2001 (Un altro mondo è possibile), up to the “L’odore del Sangue” released in (2003). In the native theme of the Naples-born film director the Sun is conjuncted to Mars in Scorpio as a real fighter, so tough as that he can sometimes lose his strict self-control he is required to have (Mars in a dynamic quadrature to Uranus). Do not make Martone angry, because it could be dangerous (as we saw in the harsh controversy with Gabriele Salvatores on the quality of Italian films). Even if a sweet, motherly Moon in Cancer, combined with a rigorous Venus in Libra, generates doubts and guilt about his outbursts.
