He designed jewelry and decorative glass, and created numerous sceneries and costumes for music halls, the theater and cinema. In fact, he designed the costumes of Rodolfo Valentino in the film “Monsieur Beaucaire” of 1924.
He illustrated advertisement catalogues and numerous literary texts, specifically Charles Baudelaire, Théophile Gautier, Pierre Louÿs, Alfred de Musset, Paul Verlaine. His masterpiece are the five volumes of the “Almanac of present, past and future fashions” published between 1922 and 1925 by the name “Falbalas et Fanfreluches“.
He was greatly influenced by Greek vases, Indian miniatures and the works of Aubrey Beardsley and Léon Bakst which marked his precise and diligent style and typifies his school: Art deco.
