The first archeological find of overalls was found less than ten years in 1998, in a mining town in Nevada, abandoned for nearly a century.
Here, buried along with other fossils, a pair of “denim waist overalls” was found, produced and purchased between 1880 and 1885 and probably worn by an anonymous gold miner.
This garment, which had lasted over a century, was perfectly preserved thanks to its indestructible fiber.
This ancestor of jeans was re-purchased by its 19th century producer, the glorious pioneer of Levi Strauss & Co.
