The Nesi family are part of an age, the Italian manufacture industry able to impose itself in all the world thanks to its top quality products.

The book is dedicated to the small entrepreneurs of the XX century and it is the story of a defeat.

The people from Prato, boasting to produce the most beautiful fabrics of the world and that could not prevent the globalization.

At the auctions only the price was the aspect to be considered, running for the price reduction to strangle the most desperate artisans.

A bitter book telling about dismissals, turnovers decreasing year after year until the apotheosis:

In 2004 the family decides with sadness to sell the firm.

Later on they talk about a blitz of the police in a clandestine laboratory run by young Chinese people.

Mattresses thrown on the floor, poor beds, tangled covers, horrible dirt everywhere.

Invective of those who have seen the interruption of a wonderful story and cannot find an explanation for it

And this is not a case that all this takes place in Prato, solitary outpost of the Italian against-modernism.
