The figure at the right displays an elegant feminine apparel of the beginning of the IX century: a light crown (circulus) with pendants on the head and the dalmatica with rather wide sleeves.
The apparel of the two Saints is instead characteristic of two different time periods: to the left Saint Peter wears a draped roman pallium on the shoulder and the robe with purple clubs, while Saint Valerian wears the chlamys with gold tablion and a cerulean Dalmatian with gold embroidered decorations (segments and orbiculi).
