The splendour of the royal Byzantine vestments is portrayed in the figure of St. Agnes – with an crown articulated with segments and pendants, wide collar (maniakion) with sapphires and pearls, beautiful golden and jewelled scarf (loros) which enwraps shoulders and falls down the front, a striped and embellished dalmatic (patagi – ribbons embroidered with precious stones and orbiculi – circular motifs), jewelled as well, a pure white coat, embroidered in geometric patterns draped on the arm, purple shoes.
