Having put away their super sexy Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik heels, celebrities are relenting and opting for more comfortable and practical shoes. There are those who remain faithful to the classic Converse and those who go for hi-tech styles.

In the meantime, a sneaker craze has begun…

It’s well known that walking down the red carpet is a trying exercise even for the most tenacious equilibrist. Hours upon hours perched on bizarre heels, masking a painful wince with a bright smile, feigning the greatest nonchalance even when the pain becomes untolerable. It should come as no surprise if, once the curtain has been closed, even the champions of the 5 inch heel raise the white flag and – literally – stoop to compromise with their obsession by donning a comfortable pair of sneakers. Clearly they are fickle creatures and the reconsideration doesn’t last long, just long enough for a trip to the supermarket or a walk with the heir, a brief yet intense moment which starts a trend.

Because, it goes without saying, the clothing of the stars is the real catwalk from which all trends begin.
