SILK CLOTH DATED AT THE XI CENTURY (?) – VATICAN APOSTOLIC LIBRARY
This bag is made with cloth originating from the Sancta Sanctorum, with green leafy embellishments within lozenges with threefold trimming on a pink background. It is Byzantine in nature due to the sobriety of its decorative design, however in the carefree etherealness of certain details, it reveals a more oriental influence, perhaps pertaining to Asia Minor.
In any case, it is an extremely rare XI century specimen, although it has yet to be verified.
