After World War II, what had in previous decades been the first intuition of a few theoreticians and was then experimented on in avant-garde workshops became the commonly accepted and practiced norm.

In following fashion, the world of color became an increasingly iridescent kaleidoscope, in which the connection between industrial production and aesthetic design became the salient aspect of mass consumption.
