KOASATI

 wool, red, black

This 1930 Koasati scarf is embroidered with beads a strip of red and black unfinished wool.

The curved pattern is typical of the western designer, while the scarf of the eastern type is hand woven with simultaneous insertion of beads in geometric designs.

The roll, very frequent on ceramics of pre-historic south-eastern Indians, is a fundamental element in the western stylistic area.
