A wonderful example of 12^th century civilized clothing: the face is chastely wrapped in blindfolds which indicate here the woman’s marital status.

A round biretta towers atop the blindfolds: the surplice has very wide sleeves from the shoulder, which get immeasurably wider as they running toward the wrists; even the lower part of the surplice is abundant, a wide border adorns the hemline; the footwear is close-toed and smooth.
