The trouble is that they’re not “characters,” and I can only choose if I see some photographs, better yet, people.
The book from which I got the suggestion for the story of the film doesn’t even describe the characters; they are only last names, to whom the readers give a face, features and characteristics as they wish, which can easily be interchangeable.
Therefore, it happens that the actor or the actors that I would have chosen for the character of priest Don Antonio would be equally convincing for the part of the Lawyer; and that which should embody the Little Man who flies could just as likely be Nestor.
Basically, dear Pietro, it is truly difficult to describe a character who doesn’t exist, and who will only exist after I have chosen him. Anyway, let’s give it a try.
