Schiaparelli’s creativity and originality are expressed in accessories: the hat-shoe (designed by her friend Dalì), hats as inhabited spaces, hats shaped like human brains, gloves with long nails; she was first to make Plexiglas earrings and bracelets. Jean Hugo designs the most curiously shapes buttons-sculptures for her, buttons shaped like lips, barley candy, inkpots and animals.

Ahead of her time, Elsa even understood that the fashion show is a showcase, an event for buyers, but that true fashion was done with the prêt-à-porter.
