The Pawnee was a tribe from Nebraska speaking the Caddoan language.

They were divided into four groups.

The economy is based mainly on the cultivation of corn and beans.The Pawnee had a certain familiarity in pottery manufacturing. Women were particularly active in the trade among the villages, they are also protagonists of religious ceremonies. The Pawnee religion is quite complex. They had a Main Divinity. Then there were other minor gods and all the stars were themselves gods. The stars said when it was appropriate to plant the corn. The Pawnee also practiced two ritual dances: the Sun Dance and Ghost Dance.
