There is a general belief that fashion has rigid rules. Of course it has but, as you know, the rules exist to break them. Braking generally accepted rules you can express yourself and make your own, unique style.
How to break fashion rules and still look good? Which rules are breakable? We’ll try to prompt you writing a short list of rules you should break.
- No pattern mixing
Now you can mix patterns and it won’t be a faux pas. You can for example wear T-shirt with stripes and skirt with dots. Important thing is that parts of your outfit which are in different patterns should be in the same or eventually in matching color, e.g. black T-shirt with white stripes and black skirt with white dots – this is the rule that you shouldn’t break.
Dressspace.com poposal:
- No denim on denim

As we’ve already written in one of latest posts, you can wear a few denim garments together. You have to remember that those garments have to be either in identical type of denim, or in completely different shade (one of them much darker than the other).
Proposal:

- Don’t link gold with silver

This is the matter of taste. If you like it – wear it. Fashion tells us that we shouldn’t do it, so we should try to do this. Silver and gold in one place, for example on one necklace, can give you originality.
Proposal of wearing:
- Matching clothing for age

You can look good and be on trend even if you are a little bit older than models on catwalk. So stop paying attention on your age and stop telling that your are to old to wear something.
Proposal:
- Black from head to toe only when you are in mourning

This topic was touched in one of previous posts, too. Now ‘all black’ style is fashionable for every occasion and every time of day.
Proposal:

- No color mixing

Now you can mix colors that you shouldn’t match before. For example red with orange. But be careful with this, because if you overdo, you will probably look like a clown – there is a fine line between looking good or awful matching colors.
