THE GOLDEN ERA OF DARK BLUE
As we have seen, since ancient times man has been attracted by nature’s colors and has tried to imitate and reproduce them to decorate the objets he uses or interacts with.
Blue dye, which owes much of its success to the popularity of jeans, was produced in ancient times with natural coloring agents.
In the western world up until the end of the 16th century the color blue was obtained from the woad plant (Isatis tinctoria) which grew spontaneously nearly all over Europe, in wet areas as well as on clay soils.
