5 RULES FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT FLARED SKIRT
1) LENGTH. The knee is the guiding limit. A skirt which ends above this point will make you seem like a cheerleader ready for the show.  It’s best to cover it and let the hemline reach the mid-calf, to highlight the ankle’s slenderness. 

2) FABRIC. In order to reach the desired effect, it is important that the material be crisp and a bit stiff (not too much!). Canvas, cotton faille and crocheted lace are perfect for the most models. Brocade and silk models, however, are perfect for evenings. Even leather lends itself well, as long as it is soft enough to hold the folds without weighing down the shape.

3) COLOR. Pastel shades are really trendy: blush pink, sky blue, butter, mint. Black is always in, stripes render the model more saucy , and patterns – especially graphics – are the most modern and up-to-date version.
