MOCASSINS

bead, cloth, red

A pair of moccasins belonging to a Chippewa child, dating back to circa 1890.

Made out of white deerskin, they have soft soles, bead decorations on a black cloth background, and edges and laces made of red ribbon.

Animal nerves and regular thread were used to manufacture them.
